Looking for a position with one of Canberra's largest mobile DJ business? Here's a run down of what is required

Contractors Only - Disc Jockey's (DJ's)

Requirements - DJ's MUST HAVE.

• Have own ABN
• Have own public liability ins, or be prepared to obtain it, we will show you where to obtain it
• Have own PPCA Licence or be prepared to obtain one.
• Be technically skilled i.e. able to set up and pack down a show
• Have own music, a minimum of 1500 tracks including a selection of 60's, 70's, 80's 90's and current hits.
• Have drivers licence & own transport - to be able to carry equipment
• Have a bright personality, have a stage presence and be able to mix with a broad group of people
• Be well presented and have ability to do voice over work as required
• Must be able to read the crowd and produce the right mix of music
• Scratching of music is not a requirement, however you must be able to mix music, you will be tested. If you can scratch this will be looked on very favourably
• Must be over 18 years of age in order to work in licenced venues
• Must be prepared to work late nights and on occasion during the day. (eg Office Xmas partys)
• Previous experience is manditory, a full resume detailing where you have worked is required, references may be requested.
• Must be prepared to be a Roadie on occasion

Contractors Only - Karaoke Jockey's (KJ's)

Requirements - KJ's MUST HAVE.

• Have own ABN
• Have own public liability ins, or be prepared to obtain it, we will show you where to obtain it
• Have own PPCA Licence or be prepared to obtain one.
• Be technically skilled i.e. able to set up and pack down a show
• Must have good singing ability and stage presence, you will be tested on this.
• Must be able to balance song requests
• Have drivers licence & own transport - to be able to carry equipment
• Have a bright personality and be able to mix with a broad group of people
• Be well presented and have ability to do voice over work as required
• Must be over 18 years of age in order to work in licenced venues
• Must be prepared to work late nights and on occasion during the day. (eg Office Xmas partys)

• Must be prepared to be a Roadie on occasion

NOTE: Consumption of Alcohol for either position during the GIG is NOT permitted at anytime.

Both positions require the following

MUST be generally available to do a show -

• Unfortunately, calling in sick after you confirm your availability is NOT necessarily an option as there may not be any back up DJ's/KJ's available. Once you commit to a show you will be expected to do the show, if you feel you cannot commit then you are not the type of person required for these positions and need not apply.
• Stage hands ie Roadies, you will be required on occasion to set up and pack down stage lighting, cabling, PA, cordless microphones and other duties as directed.
• Finally you will be an ambassador for Raven Entertainment as such you will be required to wear our uniform at all times when working, a shirt, Polo top or Tee Shirt will be supplied.

Equipment - both DJ & KJ

You will be required to look after the equipment, damage caused through normal wear and tear will be picked up by Raven Entertainment.

However if you drop equipment, lose equipment, blow up equipment or have it stolen YOU will be expected to pay for any damages.

Normal wear and tear items are light globes, speaker and microphone leads, microphones and monitors.

Excessive wear and tear includes but is not limited to spilling drinks on equipment OR allowing someone else to spill a drink, over driving power amps and speakers, dropping equipment OR having your friends OR the audience drop equipment.

You will be required to sign a contract agreeing to the above prior to commencement.

Payment

Pay rates will be negotiated on experience. You will be paid by Electronic Bank Tranfser AFTER the gig, which provides time to check with the venue that everything went well plus time to access that no equipment was damaged.
